I always felt welcomed by Christine. As her son-in-law, she always made me feel a part of the family and I loved her for that. When I was dating Erin back in the 90's (last century), Erin took me to meet her parents while they lived in Seattle. I was curious about them as Erin and I (at least I felt) were getting serious. Erin had told me that Christine and Den were hosting a game night....Josh, Trish and Doug and few other folks I don't remember who were there with Erin and I. Now, you must know that previous to being with Erin, I really disliked family games. I had bad memories of playing family games as the youngest in my family as I usually got the short end of the stick. I was not looking forward to it. I was nervous to meet Erin's parents and I had no idea what game they would be playing. I think it might have been murder or some other group game but I remember watching Erin laugh without any inhibition with her sibling, parents and friends. Everyone was having so much fun and it was quite lively. I remember being somewhat blown away as the enormous love and joy I felt that night. I realized that Erin's family was absolutely lovely and I felt really happy to think of myself joining the family. Almost 20 years in, I still am so happy to be part of the Widman family and was honored to have Christine welcome me as one of her kids. Also, I now really enjoy playing games with our own family even though Erin usually beats me. I think back on my time with Christine and much of the best times involved playing games like Pictionary. I think these times help build a love for family in my own kids who loved and still love to play games with each other....Christine was the best and I'll always cherish the time we had with her.
