For years, in our visits to Azure Gate, I thought of Christine as the quietest person I'd ever met. Every morning she was warm and friendly, but ever so quiet. After an initial period of ten years or so we would get together away from the kitchen and dining room. Ah! She wasn't a quiet person -- she was just the perfect host. She was letting others carry on with their stories. And not only was Christine not the most quiet person, she was fantastically interesting with stories and ideas and opinions. But one thing never changed. She had a radiant smile that said more in an instant than most people convey in hours.

Maury, this photo so captures the essence of my mom. Quiet but so vibrant and inviting.
